Carmelia Cooper

Carmelia Cooper is the Probate Paralegal for Life & Legacy Counselors. Prior to coming to the firm, Carmelia worked for the probate court starting from cashier to new estates deputy moving up as an Auditor. She’s felt that applying, obtaining, and elevating oneself in higher positions within the agency would allow better access to learning the complete probate process. Carmelia was born in Monrovia, Liberia but left during the war in the early 90s and raised in Washington DC, Staten Island, NY and Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Carmelia believes you’re never too young to teach and never to old to learn. I enrolled in college after becoming a mother to obtain a degree in Economics, not only to gain a mental understanding of becoming financially stable but being able to teach her own children as well. Carmelia’s goal is to start a financial literacy and 360 selfcare program to allow all ages and gender in my community be confident and successful in our ever-changing economy system.

Outside of work and school, Carmelia provides cleaning services for elderly on fixed income and little to no family close to home as well as families who recently lost a loved one. She also enjoys road trips with her children for sightseeing and great food.
